I have played Bejeweled for years, and once our boys received iPhones, they decided they wanted Bejeweled too. Of course, they loved it and play all the time.
Our oldest came up with this idea that we should make a Bejeweled that you could play "in real life", and that you could play with others. He even made a paper version, and said when he grows up he is going to make a real version. I took a picture of his paper version to share with all of you:
Now his version is a Candy Crush and Bejeweled Combo. I had no idea that Hasbro actually makes a table top version of Bejewelled, that you can play 2-4 players with! When they offered for me to review it, I was so excited and told them about how happy my 6yo would be.
My son is 6, and he caught on very quickly to what you were supposed to do, and then proceeded to beat me soundly 9 out of 10 times.
This of course comes in a lot of pieces, since you have to put the jewels on the game board yourself. Set up seems a bit daunting when you pull it all out, but it really didn't take that long, and my 6yo was able to figure it out after I explained what we needed to do.
You need to fill up the board with jewels, then one player tries to match 3 in a row. You earn coins in the colour of the gems you matched. The one thing that I found about this game was that you could win very quickly, and I actually won on the first turn once. He was not happy LOL. However it is an easy fix, instead of playing to 5 coins of the same colour, like the rules state, you can always pick a higher number and play to that instead.
My son and I really enjoyed this game, and play it regularly now. If you are a fan of Bejeweled I am sure you will like this game!

That looks like fun!I'm a recovering addict from Jewel Fever (same idea as Bewjeeled) and I'm not sure it's a good idea for me haha!

ReplyDeleteI love bejewled, didn't realize they made it as a boardgame. This would be great for a family Christmas gift from Santa.
