My girls are ages 3 and 6. The 3 year old, who perhaps I should mention is almost 4 now, doesn't have the attention span for the game. She "gets" the core mechanics. She likes the story and the characters, but the time between turns is too long for her. The pieces are also too cute and play like, and she will start randomly moving around figurines and cheese tokens. I would say 4 or 5 year olds would enjoy it. Three is probably too young.
The six year old completely understands the game and loves it. With a little help from mom (just to get over the fact that she cant' quite read yet) she is able to play out her own turns, and even often catches us when we mess up a rule.
I should also mention, this game is not a kids game. It's a game that plays well for kids, but would be just as fun for grown ups on their own. We're only on Chapter 2, but it's my understanding that some of the later Chapters are quite challenging.
What age would you recommend for this game? I've got a 3 year old gamer in the making.

This looks fun and challenging. I like games that make a person use strategy.
