Masterpiece

When I was a little girl and even into my teenage years, one of my favourite things to do was to play board games with my family.

We had many favourite games, and would play card, dice, or board games.  We loved playing the Game of Life, and then my Mom found a game called Masterpiece at a garage sale or second hand store.

Basically, Masterpiece is a game where you get "famous works of art", and have to bid on them, or try to sell them.  The idea is to have the biggest collection at the end with the highest value.

You have to be able to bluff....which lying bold face to your parents isn't a skill they necessarily appreciate as something to be encouraged ;)   My older sister was very believable when she lied.  However, my parents didn't think I was very good at it.

I remember my Dad bidding on one of my paintings and I was all acting like it was a high value one.  Then he got it...looked at the back where the price was, and it said forgery!! His jaw dropped open, he went all red, and he realized them teasing me about being no good at this game wasn't very accurate, since I remember he paid a pretty penny for that fake! LOL

I gotta say life was difficult for a few days when I would say it wasn't me that did things wrong lol they weren't sure if they could believe me.

Have you ever played Masterpiece?
