HAPPY STAR WARS DAY!! With @DkCanada

It's Star Wars Day today! We love celebrating this with you every year.  Yes we are aware it's not gaming, but it's geeky and we are geeky gals!

Did you know that DK Canada has all kinds of amazing Star Wars books for you to check out for Star Wars Day?  We have a few of them, but we were sent 2 new ones to tell you about! I will in a minute...but first I want you to grab this printable:

 In our house, we are all Star Wars fans from us parents to the 3 boys.  When the newest movie comes out we are going to go as 3 generations to watch it together!  My In-Laws love the Series as well. 

DK Canada is well aware that Star Wars isn't just for kids, or adults, but it appeals to everyone.  This is why they have books for both adults and kids.  We have checked out both kids and adults books, and both are quality books.  They are engaging and educational as well as fun.

I am going to focus on the adult books here, but check out my post on The Knit Wit by Shari about the readers.

This book is a top quality book that has a plethora of information.  Not only does it walk you through the actual movie, but it gives you information on characters that you only see in the back ground, or we only engage with a little bit.  So other than the main characters you learn a little about Fode and Beed, you know...the announcers of the Pod Races.

We have a few of these and our boys even like to read them. I have 2 boys who read ahead of where they should be for their age, so they enjoy reading older books.  It's sometimes hard to find books that challenge them reading wise, but it also appropriate for their eyes.  Since they have seen the movies, I am find these great books to challenge them. Plus it engages my 7 yo who has a thirst for reading.



The other book I wanted was Star Wars Year by Year: a Visual Chronicle.  It looked awesome!

When I saw it by the description, I thought ok cool :) I want that.  It looks pretty amazing.... and then I got it.  It is! It is amazing!

There is a front pouch with 2 pictures that you could frame! It comes with a box to slide it into, and  protects it.

When you open up the book you will see a year by year breakdown of what happens each year for the franchise.  From the Movies launched, to the digital remakes being launched.  This particular one goes up to 2011.  

Over all, this book is very cool! Each member of my family grabbed it and looked through it as we all thought it was awesome.  It is definitely a great reference book, and would work awesome as a coffee table book.

I would say it would make a great Father's Day present for the Dad that has everything.  It would make a unique gift.
