The Secret Life of Pets: Unleashed

I am a fan of matching games, and always like playing different ones.  So I wanted to share with you some information about a new one coming out.

Have you seen the previews for the new movie called The Secret Life of Pets? Well it's a new movie all about what pets do when we aren't home or around to see!  Of course, paired with that is a new app, and it allows game players to join the film’s characters, Max and his crew of charmingly mischievous companions, for an adventure in the Big Apple.

As you play, you will unlock new friends and colorful challenges in The Secret Life of Pets: Unleashed™.  This game is brought to you by Electronic Arts, Illumination Entertainment, and NBCUniversal Brand Development.  It's going to be a free app!

In The Secret Life of Pets: Unleashed players can expect to:

Tackle Challenging Puzzles
Match their way through New York with the charming guide Max revealing new puzzles, pets and moments along the way. Players will get to chase away pesky squirrels with Mel or dig up super-sized bones for Duke.

Embark on Pet Adventures
As players progress through the game and make their way to the top of the leaderboards, they’ll meet new pets including Chloe, who can't be bothered unless there is food, Leonard, the posh punk poodle and Snowball, the insanely cute and also insane rabbit.

Reveal and Relish Pet Moments
Make the perfect match and unlock secret pet moments including releasing a flock of helpful (and beautiful) parakeets or triggering an exciting tile-exploding rainbow ball.

You can go get it now in the Google Play or App Store.

Monsters Will Bring Us Together: Fling, Roll, Bounce and Play the MONSTER STRIKE Mobile Game

Mixi, inc., a game developer from Japan, has unleashed a new video marketing campaign for its chart-topping mobile game Monster Strike.

SILLY VIDEO, STUNNING MONSTERS
The video features Brooklyn Nine Nine star Andy Samberg delivering a pep talk to a locker room full of computer generated 3D creatures. These 3D versions of characters from Monster Strike were created by award-winning Tippett Studio, perhaps best known recently for recreating their famous 3D holo chess scene for The Force Awakens.

I'm so-so, on this video to be honest. The silly locker room spiel didn't do it for me. But the creatures? Dang! They are stunning. Tippet Studio did an amazing job of bringing some of the creatures from Monster Strike to life, and for that the video is definitely more than worth a view (or two).

BIG IN JAPAN
Monster Strike is the biggest mobile game in Japan, dominating the charts on both iTunes and Google Play store since 2014. Worldwide it's been downloaded more than 30 million times.

If you haven't tried it yet I would say Monster Strike is definitely worth a look. The game play mechanic is pretty unique for an RPG "level 'em up" style turned based fighter. To attack you pull back on your monster and fling them across the battlefield. Your creature then bumps around the arena, banging into bad guys and causing damage, or bouncing off of allies and setting off back-up powers.

It's sort of like shooting a game of pool while simultaneously playing Pokemon. The monsters are cute, the artwork is solid and the leveling up aspect can be a bit addictive. I will warn you, the boss fights can be challenging, particularly when trying to clear them in as few turns as possible to earn the speed bonus. Personally, I like it when a game isn't too easy and I think it's actually nice to lose every now and again.

MOBILE APP WITH A SOCIAL TWIST
One of the other really unique parts of Monster Strike is the co-op play. Rather then pairing you up with a random stranger somewhere across the world, co-op play in Monster Strike relies on gathering together with friends in the same physical space. Playing together and cheering (and jeering) each other on, creates a unique social experience that is missing from most app games.

The social aspect is the driving force behind the whole #MonstersWillBringUsTogether campaign that Mixi launched with this video. From now until April 4th likes will unlock Orbs. You can check out the full details of the #MWBUT promotion on their website, but the general gist is the more people that click "like" on a particular Facebook post Monster Strike has published featuring the new Andy Samberg video, then the more Orbs they will give out as an in game prize.

OVERALL, I find Monster Strike addictive and hard to put down. It's surprising just how much fun the fling to attack mechanic can be. Add in the ability to level up and combine monsters, and the engaging co-play options, and you've got a solid mobile game here.

TRY IT FOR FREE
Monster Strike is free to download and free to play. It's available in the Apple App Store and via Google Play. It does of course have the typical freemium gameplay aspects, where you can you use real world money to purchase in-game currency (Orbs), to speed things up or to hatch more monsters. However, having tested it out and played it for a good chunk of time I can vouch for the fact that you can play, and enjoy, this game without dishing out for the extras. Also, the whole #MonstersWillBringUsTogether campaign makes right now a particularly great time to join in on Monster Strike and get a bunch of free orbs (so far they've unlocked the "10 each" option, but I'm guessing more are to come).

Have you folks tried out Monster Strike yet? What did you think? Anyone else playing it right now? or are you about to download it and give it a shot? Let me know how you like it!

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post, but as always our words and opinions are our own (and we would never suggest you try a game we didn't genuinely enjoy).

Alphabear App Review

I was playing Triple Town (or as my 5yo calls it "Naughty Bear Game") on my iPhone when I noticed a link to something called Alphabears.  I thought it was worth checking out since I like Triple Town, and word play games.

Basically this is simple, and you want to build words with letters that are available on the grid.  Each time you enter a word the remaining letters drop 1 number.  That is the point value as well as how many turns you have to use it.  When the number gets to 0 the letter block turns into a stone.

If you use up a letter a bear pops up into the open space.  You want to eliminate as many letters in a certain area to help your bear grow. The bigger your bear the more points it will earn you.

At the end of the round, depending on how many points you earn, you will receive a bear.  You want to get those bears to level up, so when you use them in a game, you will receive a boost in points. The more you use them the more you will help them level up. Each time you level up a bear the boost you get from them will be increased, which then in turn, earns you more points.

There are usually 2 or more types of boards you can play at any given time.  Such as big board, or timed. There are also challenges where you can earn specialty bears.

One of my favourite things about this game is that while I do have to be signed into the game center I don't have to share on Facebook or sign in to Facebook to play.  You can play without any interaction from friends, which is good since none of my friends have this game, currently.

Currently this is my go to game, it's fun and makes you think a little bit about what words you can make with the available letters as well as with the lowest amount of turns left.

Have you heard of or played Alphabear?

Lost Gaming Treasure - Wolfang Kramer's Hacienda HD for the iOS by Cube Your Mind

When it comes to apps, I am always on the look out for a good board game adaptation. Cube Your Mind's version of Hacienda fits everything I'm looking for. First, it's a good game that I also enjoy playing in it's cardboard format. Secondly, the game plays smoothly and has an intuitive interface. The third and final winning point being that it has a solid A.I.

The board game version of Hacienda has been out for about ten years. It's a game I have played easily well over a hundred times. A game I know the rules to well, enough so that I am comfortable with teaching it to others at public play events. It's probably up there in my top twenty-five or so favourite games.

All of which is to say Hacienda is a game I enjoy playing on a fairly regular basis, though I will say it's been hitting the table less frequently. It is also a game I normally win at. So imagine my surprise when I first tried out the app version and the A.I. kicked my butt. I was frustrated and surprised. But really, an AI that can beat me is a fantastic part of an app game. It's not fun to just win all the time. Yawn. Boring.

Flash forward a few weeks and having played the iPad version of the game quite a bit I've gotten to the point where I can beat the A.I. now... most of the time. Again, I find this frustrating but fantastic all at the same time. Playing versus the A.I. in this app actually taught me to look at the game play in new ways and upped my game. Pretty cool, right?

Other happy things to note:

The tutorial does a great job of walking you through the rules if you've never played the board game version, or are a bit rusty on the specifics.

The game also has pass-and-play functionality, something I always look for in iOS games. I love being able to pull the iPad mini out of my purse and play a game with hubby while out for coffee or dinner.

Unfortunately this one qualifies as a "lost gaming treasure" as it seems to no longer be available for download through the iTunes store, and as far as I can tell Cube Your Mind has gone out of business (their website is defunct, and I can't find any recent references).

Angry Birds Friends App of The Week

I am taking full advantage of my kids being home for the summer, their love of playing apps, and the fact they will work for $1.

So this week I hired my middle son to do an app review, and he is showcasing Angry Birds Friends.  My thought? Man there are a lot of Angry Birds additions...and am I just getting ripped off, since he mostly just writes the same thing over and over?? LOL

Here is his review:

As you can see....he thinks lines are a mere suggestion instead of a necessity! LOL But I love that he tries, and that he really does put his heart into his review.

How you play:
Start the fight or do practice. Hold back, let go, press the screen. You have incredible terance.  (Editor's notes: I didn't know what he meant by the incredible terance so I asked him.  His response? "Oh I found out later his name is really wing man.")

And introducing the new global League! Challenge millions of players from across the world in a fantastically furious bird flingin’ festival of pig poppin’ destruction! Get higher scores to improve your ranking and climb through the seven tiers (sound easy? it’s not). The higher you go, the tougher it gets. And remember, what goes up can also come down...

You can play on mobile devices or Facebook!

Bingo Monopoly

I recently discovered the Monopoly Bingo app.  This is a Storm8 created app, and must be connected to the internet to work.  It is a free game, with in app purchases, but NO gambling involved.  All "money" is pretend except if you want to buy more diamonds to spend on dice or other resources you ran out of.

Monopoly Bingo is just that. A Bingo game base on the classic board game monopoly.  As with every bingo game, the numbers are called and you daub your numbers.  Although with this game, you can earn boosts that are similar to cards, and awards in Monopoly. This will help you earn more: dice, money, and other bonuses.

When you open the game, you will have 3 options of ways to play: Classic, Special and Tournament.

Tournament

In the Tournament, you have 3 rounds to play.  The goal is to get as many points as possible during the bingo round.  You can buy as many cards as you have money to play and want to play. The more points you wrack up the higher you will be in the global ranking and more rewards you will receive.

There are different properties that you will unlock and each has it's own rewards to earn.

Classic

This is your classic Bingo game, and you will earn items so you can play another round.  You will win collectibles, which then go on to your collectors card, and you will get bonuses on your Bingo card there when you get a line.

Special

For this type of play, you pick your property to visit, and this determines the pattern you will need to achieve to get bingo.  The rest of the game play is the same.

Slingo Adventure

I used to play a game called Slingo Adventure on my computer when I lived by myself.  Since I have been married and living with my hubby the last 12 years, it's been a while.  I recently discovered that they now have a Slingo Adventure app! You can still get it for your computer, but I personally find it easier to play most games on my phone now as I can take them with me wherever I go!

Since this is a game I use to play a lot, I knew I would like it.  If you aren't into gambling, but like playing slot style games, then Slingo Adventure is a game that you will probably like.

Slingo Adventure is a cross between a slot machine style game play, and Bingo.  You will be spinning  the play board, and then you match the numbers that come up across the bottom of the play area.  Mark off your numbers, and spin again.

Of course, there are power ups to help you get rows finished.  Plus there are mini games, coin flips and "betting" your coins for different reasons.  You want to get the highest score possible of course.

I really like this game.  It's mindless fun, but you have to pay attention or you will miss a number and not get a slingo! Heaven forbid!

Overall this is a fun, simple to learn game.

Gems With Friends

Gems with friends is a fun game where you are given gems with various numbers on them.  You need to put them beside each other.  When you get 3, they will warp together go up by one.  The idea is to clear gems as much as possible by adding them together. Once you put three 9s together they clear.

You play 3 rounds against friends, and they are super fast moving rounds.

You can get special gems, and boosts to help you score the most points to beat your opponent.

A mix of clever planning and lightning reflexes will have you combining colorful gems together in head-to-head competition with your friends. Play FAST to collect Stars to earn extra points or play SMART to set up chain combos to multiply your score. It is easy to learn and difficult to master.

My major problem with the game is that if your friends don't play then you have to match up with strangers and it just isn't as much fun.

Otherwise this is another great game from Zynga in the "With Friends" Series.

My Days As an AdVenture Capitalist

I am always on the lookout for a fun new game to check out, and share with you.  Oh man, this one is super simple, and doesn't seem addictive at first....

AdVenture Capitalist starts out with you opening a lemonade stand.  You just click a button.  That's it. Over and over.  Then oh you can buy a newspaper stand, and upgrade your lemonade stand.

As you are click and going you will think hmmmm this is starting to get boring.  All this clicking? It's a lot of work, for what I am getting, and if I close the game nothing is going to happen while I am not here.  That's when the little dude pops up and says "tired of clicking?" and you think YES!!!!

So you hire a manager, and well that's easy.  Now the money is cranking in. You are buying upgrades, and new companies, and managers, and everything is moving swimmingly.  Then you think, that's it?

So that little guy pops up and says get Angel Investors....this is cool, but you have to restart! GAH all progress lost!!  But then..... the angels make things faster.  Oh man this thing is crazy.

This super easy game, is not complicated, but FUN!!! It keeps you interested, and is very easy.  It keeps going when you aren't there, so when you come back you and upgrade and keep rolling.

You can play online, grab it through Apple Store, Google Play, Steam or play on Kongregate.

Ok, I gotta go...I gotta check my investments!

Surprisingly Addictive Coin Dozer

I love playing games on my iphone when I am waiting on something. I recently discovered Coin Dozer

This surprisingly addictive game, is just like what you would see at an arcade. Whenever I am stuck having fun at Chuck E Cheese, I am playing Coin Dozer or something similar.  I find it is great for spitting out tickets, and using up tokens, which are my 2 goals at Chuck E Cheese LOL.

I really didn't think this game would be all that fun, and seriously thought, ok it will be a quick post for the blog.  That was the sole purpose of downloading this game.

Now I am totally addicted.   I really thought it was funny that in the iTunes description it says:

The mega addictive time waster game you and your kids have spent countless hours playing, now in the palm of your hand! No cash, quarters, bulldozer, or trip to Vegas needed.

It totally is a time waster, but so fun and addictive.

Push shiny gold coins and exciting prizes into your hands by dropping some from your pocket through the slots and into the coin pusher.   When you are pushing some of your coins will drop off the side, and I have seen some of my bonuses fall down there and I yell NO! LOL Hubby and the boys think I got bad news, and I am like no my XP bonus coin fell off the side!

You can get boosters like walls that will protect the sides so all your coins and prizes go straight to you!

This is a free game, although you can buy the pro version, which I might do next.  So far I have found the free version great, and totally not needing to pay for anything. I hate when the free version means you really have to buy in app purchases to get anywhere.  You can for sure do that with this app, but I haven't found that you need to.

You can earn everything you want for free to keep playing.  You can also watch ads for other games and things to get more coins or Dozer Dollars to buy boosts.  I choose to do this since I need to find more games to play so I can share with you. But it's not needed to have a totally fun experience.

Lost Games: Altered Beast

Altered Beast is a game from back when I was a kid.  Yes, they did have games back that, it was made out rocks with it being the stone ages and all.  It came out in 1988 and was launched as an arcade fighting game by Sega.

The game is set in Ancient Greece, and follows a centurion who is resurrected by Zeus to rescue his daughter Athena, and to do so becomes able to turn into beasts such as the werewolf with the use of power-ups.  So...totally plausible and all that LOL

After being launched for arcades it was later released for home consoles and computers.

A Roman centurion who had died in battle is resurrected from the dead by Zeus. The centurion is ordered by Zeus to save his daughter Athena from a Demon God called Neff in the Underworld. To become able to withstand the perils, the warrior gets the ability to collect three spirit balls on each level, the last of which transforms him into a human/beast hybrid of formidable power.

After a series of battles in a journey that ends in Dis, the centurion finally defeats Neff and rescues Athena. In the original arcade game, the end credits are interspersed with images of actors in costumes for the different characters and monsters of the game, implying the whole game was a film production.

You can now play Altered Beast on the iPad, and the Nintendo 3DS.

This Thing Needs a Kickstart

So we have all heard of KickStarter and we know there are an overwhelming amount of choices out there for games that need a little kick start to get going.

I thought I would share 5 of them here:

1.  Bloxels - With Bloxels, you can use physical blocks to build customizable video games for your tablet or smartphone. Create a layout on the gameboard. Capture it on camera. Customize it in our app. Test it out and make it awesome. Then, challenge your friends and try to beat other people’s creations. As you play, you can earn coins and gems that unlock new tools and larger gaming environments. It’s recommended for players 8 and up, but it’s fun for game-lovers of all ages.

Oh man do I want to play this, and I want it for my boys! This looks awesome!

2. Foodtown Throwdown - Foodtown Throwdown takes a tongue-in-cheek look at food trends to build a game all about creating the best food truck business in town. Humor plays a central role as players compete against each other for ridiculous ingredients to complete recipes to add to their menus with absurd results. A grilled cheese sandwich on banana bread? Sure thing. A duck meat hot dog with purple potato fries? Coming right up! You'll also need to establish your territory and publicize your truck, but watch out for attempts at sabotage from the other players!

This looks like a game that would be fun to give a try at least for a go around and see if it becomes a favourite or not. I would try it for sure.

3. Yooka-Laylee - Yooka-Laylee is an all-new 3D platformer from the creative talent behind the Banjo-Kazooie and Donkey Kong Country games. We’ve come together to form Playtonic Games and create a spiritual successor to our most cherished work from the past!

This game is 100% backed and then some. They have reached all their stretch goals and keep adding more.  This seems to be highly anticipated and will be interesting to watch how it does once it is actually out.

4. HotterKeys - HotterKeys is a game for Mac and PC that teaches you keyboard shortcuts on an adventure through spacetime as Olivia, an otter who's trying to protect Otterspace from it's slow menu driven destruction.

It'll be a bit like Mavis Beacon meets Katamari Damacy.

Nothing says fun game like learning hot keys?   I know it's a useful thing, and yes it would be something that people could gain knowledge from.  I am just not thinking there is a high demand for this sort of fun.

5. Wombat Rescue -

Did you know that wombats poop cubes?

It's true!

Scientists theorize that, due to extremely poor vision but an excellent sense of smell, wombats use their poop cubes as "smell markers" to help them navigate their environment. Because their poop is cube-shaped it is less likely to roll away or be moved.

In this novel game by designer Matt Wolfe, you play a Mama wombat. The dastardly dingo has stormed your burrow and chased away 4 of your baby wombats! You will need to eat and digest food in order to produce poop cubes, with which you will build smell areas so you can navigate your environment, find your baby wombats, and bring them home. The player who best plans their smell areas and moves most efficiently will find their 4 babies, bring them home and prove victorious!

This is funded.  I am not really sure what to think about that! LOL But I am sure a game about poop and wombats would be a hit around here. LOL

So what KickStarter game would you throw your money behind?

Township

I tried out a new iOS game called Township, that I got free through the app store.

Township is a city-building and farming all in one app.  You need to harvest crops, run factories and sell goods.  You can explore mines, and run establishments.

Township is completely free to download and play. Some in-game items can also be purchased for real money, however this is optional and not required.  Although you do need a network connection to play.

The first thing I noticed was to do anything you need to do a few steps for each thing.  For example, to harvest wheat you need to get a tool, first. I always dislike this because I feel like it just makes the game bulkier and more steps.

I don't really understand the point, and feel like it's an added unnecessary step.  It is one that most of these games have, thus the reason I am a Farmville 2 fan as they eliminated a lot of those extra steps.

Over all I found this to be a cute game, and similar to all city- build games.   If this is the type of game you enjoy, you should check it out for sure.

You can make some of the famous landmarks from around the world in your own town which I thought was a great and fun idea.

SimCity BuildIt

In case you didn't know this, I am a huge NASCAR fan, and I know you are probably thinking what does that have to do with SimCity BuildIt? Well....bear with me here.

One of my favourite journalists does a 12 Questions with a driver each week for the year.  The drivers love it as it's not the usual questions, and the fans love it because it's usually a lot more driver personality than "My <sponsor plug> <manufacturer plug> was super fast today, and we did all we could.  Our <team plug> was on the ball, and we did the best we could.  I want to thank <Owner plug>...."

Anyway I was reading his 12 Questions with Dale Earnhardt Jr, who is well known for his love of gaming, and Dale Jr mentioned his new favourite game: SimCity BuildIt.

Of course, my love of gaming, and the fact that I am a proud member of Jr Nation means I had to check it out:

If you are a fan of SimCity, then you should check this game out.  They recreated SimCity for mobile.  Keep in mind that while it's a free game it also has in app purchases, so be careful around the kiddies!

BUILD YOUR CITY
With countless buildings and vivid, 3D-quality graphics, this is the most realistic city builder on mobile. Strategically place buildings to keep the taxes flowing and your city growing. Pinch, zoom, and rotate 360 degrees as you manage your city on the go – both online and offline.

FLEX YOUR POWER
Create and trade resources with friends and other cities. Unlock exclusive buildings like Big Ben and The Arc de Triomphe, or unleash natural (and not so natural) disasters!

KEEP YOUR CITIZENS HAPPY
Solve real city challenges like traffic, fires, and pollution. Balance services like power and entertainment to give your citizens what they need. Complete fun challenges to specialize your city and shape society.

Watch your city come to life – night and day!

I am not a fan of these type so games on mobile. I find they are too small and busy for me, so I am not hugely into it after giving it a try.  I did look to see if it was in the Mac Store as I would for sure play on my computer but alas it is not.

So if this is your type of game, and you don't find it overwhelming on such a tiny screen, than I am sure you will like it.

What games are you top ones that we should check out?

Jelly Splash - App of The Week

I love playing games on my iPhone, and now I have an excuse to find new ones - App Of The Week! LOL

This week's app is one I found as a top game recommendation.  This game is called Jelly Splash.

Jelly Splash is one of those puzzle matching type games.  You have to try to link together as many of the same colour Jellys as you can to clear them.

As you go up the levels, there are added challenges like gray slime, and those slimer guys who will block you.

The more Jellys you link up the better the bonus, and also you will get special power ups and boosts.

There are currently 420 levels available to play so you won't run out any time soon. It is surprisingly addicting and mindless fun. Sure there is a bit of strategy, but it's not going to burn out your brain, or really challenge you either.

You can link up to Facebook and see the leader board.  You can get past the end of a section of levels without begging all your friends to help unlock too! You need a certain amount of stars earned to unlock the next level. If you don't have that you can go back and earn some more.  I like this a lot more than begging people to help you, and also if you don't have any friends that play you don't get stuck.

What games do you think we should test out for App Of The Week?

Ultimate Video Games List - W

At And She Games we love all kinds of gaming, and all types of games! So we have been curating some Ultimate Game Lists to show off to you!  We have been working our way through the The Ultimate Board Games List for a while now, and would love if you would check that out as well!

We wanted to work on Video Games next.   But first, let me say that there are a lot of video games out there.  Every type and variety, and I am sure we will miss some a long the way.  Also since some games and systems are obsolete and "current" can be a relative term, we went with 2005 and newer, and as many as we can find.

We would love your input on any we may miss along the way!  We would also love to hear your thoughts of some of these games.  If you would like to write a review of the game on our blog (we can link back to your game or business), please email us.

Warhamer 40,000: Space Marine is a third-person Action Shooter in which players accept the role of a Space Marine Captain tasked with the defense of the empire as well as humanity against the Chaos Faction lead by the ruthless Ork hordes. Players will have to use their exceptional size, strength, armor, weaponry and fighting spirit in order to succeed. Features include: a new seamless combat system allowing equally for ranged and melee action, hordes of deadly enemies of various kinds, intense 16-player online multiplayer and more.

In Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine you are Captain Titus of the Ultramarines, humanity's last hope for survival in a war-ridden future. Step into the armor of this superhuman warrior and use a lethal combination of deadly weapons to crush overwhelming alien forces. Fight against the savage Orks and the unholy forces of Chaos in a brutally violent world based on the richest science fiction fantasy ever created.

Space Marine features a fluid combat system that allows players to seamlessly switch from ranged to melee weapons without interrupting the flow of combat. Hitting the melee button at any time will result in a close range strike with the equipped hand-to-hand weapon as well as the camera pulling out to melee distance. Pulling either trigger will instantly snap the view back to behind the player’s shoulder ready for precise shooting. These systems are immediately responsive and leave the player in full control at all times. As the player dispatches enemies in Space Marine they will be earning "Fury" which can be used to unleash devastating ranged or melee attacks. The player can use "Fury Marksman" to enter a heightened form of awareness where time seems to slow down allowing them to pick off multiple ranged enemies in the blink of an eye. Alternately the player can opt to utilize their "Fury Strike" up close and personal with a sweeping area of affect attack that will obliterate anything close enough and knock-back and stun more distant foes.

warlock master of arcane

Warlock is a strategy game played on a hex based map, set in the lands of Majesty's Ardania. It has a modern look and feel yet inherits the best elements of the famous turn based strategy games of old. The underlying aim of the game is for players to overcome a variety of strategy and tactical challenges, in order to unify the land and be crowned Warlock – Master of the Arcane.

During the course of a game players are expected to explore the lands and uncover potentials sites, for new cities to be founded. Neutral cities can be captured and sacked or kept intact, for the benefit of the kingdom. As can those of rival factions.

Within the territory of a city, a host of buildings can be constructed; to provide a range of resources, to commission army units or equip them with upgrades to bolster their combat abilities. Some unqiue buildings must be placed upon rare resources which can be found across each map. These provide larger amounts of resources, more powerful units or stronger unit upgrades.

Watch Dogs

All it takes is the swipe of a finger. We connect with friends. We buy the latest gadgets and gear. We find out what’s happening in the world. But with that same simple swipe, we cast an increasingly expansive shadow. With each connection, we leave a digital trail that tracks our every move and milestone, our every like and dislike. And it’s not just people. Today, all major cities are networked. Urban infrastructures are monitored and controlled by complex operating systems.

In Watch_Dogs, this system is called the Central Operating System (ctOS) and it controls almost every piece of the city’s technology and holds key information on all of the city’s residents.

You play as Aiden Pearce, a brilliant hacker and former thug, whose criminal past led to a violent family tragedy. Now on the hunt for those who hurt your family, you'll be able to monitor and hack all who surround you by manipulating everything connected to the city’s network. Access omnipresent security cameras, download personal information to locate a target, control traffic lights and public transportation to stop the enemy, and more.

Use the city of Chicago as your ultimate weapon and exact your own style of revenge.

Wii Fit

Wii Fit attracted millions of new players to the world of video games. Now Wii Fit Plus offers a range of new features and enhancements to help players reinvigorate their workouts, along with exercises and balance games designed to keep them fun. Players will find a new dimension to the Wii Fit experience as they easily set their own customized workout routines, or choose 20-, 30- or 40-minute workouts based on how much time they have available.

As with the original Wii Fit release, Wii Fit Plus is designed, as its name implies, to improve the user's fitness. The game contains a large number of activities that fall into a variety of categories, including: yoga, aerobics, strength training and balance games. With all but a few exceptions, which utilize variations on a standard Wii Remote configuration, all activities utilize the Wii Balance Board (included with this bundle), either alone or configured with either a Wii Remote alone or the Wii Remote and nunchuck. The Balance Board, like any other Wii controller acts as a motion/pressure sensing device wirelessly synched to your Wii and replicating your body's movements. Each controller employed occupies one of the Wii's four wireless inputs, together mapping the reference points needed to recreate most full body motions on screen. Although this limits the majority of the activities to a single player orientation, various activities throughout the game support up to eight players in alternating play.

To use Wii Fit Plus players import their Miis from their Wii system, set up profiles, establish a current physical baseline, set fitness goals, and embark on a routine to reach them. Wii Fit Plus tracks your usage, weight and progress towards your goal over time, giving you a status report as you start each session. At any time players can choose whatever activity they want, whether exercise or balance game, and as they progress in these they will level up in each, gaining points, setting high scores and unlocking more activities.

When it comes to music and rhythm games, Wii Music stands in a class of its own. Unlike other music games, which penalize players if they don't play perfectly, Wii Music is a musical playground where there are no mistakes. Here anyone can pick up and master the huge array of instruments available, through simple motions like strumming and drumming. Musicians in your band jam by simply playing their instruments to the beat of a song or by improvising to their heart's content. Play faster. Play slower. Skip a beat, or throw in 10 more. No matter what you do, Wii Music automatically transforms your improv stylings into great music.

In Wii Music every band has six members: Two play the main melody, two cover the percussion beats, one covers the bass groove and one uses the song's chords to support the melody. As a band, the six members often play their special parts at the same time, though each player can jam however and whenever he or she wants. Play all at once. Take turns in the spotlight. Pair up in creative ways throughout the song. You can bring the band to life by yourself, playing one part at a time-or with up to four players. See game mode below:

Solo Play: When you play by yourself, you can add one part at a time to arrange the whole song exactly how you want. The Tutes are on hand to back up your band in any parts you need filled.

Multiplayer: When in a band with friends, up to four people can be band members.

Wii Friends: Using WiiConnect24, you can send your jam videos to Wii Friends who own Wii Music. They can then watch your performance, modify it to their liking and send their jam videos back to you.
